Class 9 Start Date - January 10, 2019
As much a Thanksgiving tradition as parades and football games, the downtown Joplin Turkey Trot is gearing up for the seventh consecutive year! And once again this year, Circles of Joplin will be the benefitting charity!
The Turkey Trot is a fully certified 5K (and one mile fun run) and it’s not too early to register! Information can be found at https://localraces.com/starlitrunning/7th-annual-joplin-turkey-trot
And watch this space for more information once we get closer to Trot time!
You’ve probably heard the horror stories; one false move or serious diagnosis and your medical debt could totally skyrocket. This week, Freeman Hospital’s Mandy Maghe will discuss navigating through medical debt. This is one of those truly “not-to-be-missed” presentations. And if you’re new to Circles, this would be a great week to come see what all the excitement is about.
To entice you even further, Liberty Utilities will be providing dinner!
We hope to see you at 6 pm Thursday evening, October 18th at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church.
The staff and residents of God’s Resort in Joplin are great friends to us at Circles and we’re excited to pass on some information on a true milestone in the history of their facility! Join in on the celebration of “What’s New and Good at God’s Resort” Friday, October 12th at 6 pm, Saturday, October 13th at 10 am, and Sunday, October 14th at 2 pm. Their new Five-Plex will be dedicated at the God’s Resort Community Center, 1501 S. Pearl at each of those days and times.
RSVPs would be appreciated by phone at 417-553-4080 or email email@example.com
Leaders and Allies will be meeting up this Thursday at Circles. If you’ve been wondering what all of this Circles stuff you’ve been hearing about is, this Thursday will be a great time to dip your toe in the Circles water. Leader/Ally pairs will be tracking their progress to make sure they stay up to date in each other’s lives.
Also this Thursday, get your flu shot so you can stay healthy through the holidays. Circles will be providing flu shots at the very affordable price of nothing. That’s right, get inoculated for free!
But wait! There’s more! Dinner will be served (also for free) between 6 and 6:30!
So let’s add all of this up: Leader/Ally night + Free Dinner + Free Flu Shots = a Circles experience you really shouldn’t miss!
See you this Thursday at 6 at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on west 26th in Joplin.
Due to popular demand, J.J. Spurlin is back this week to show our Leaders and Allies how best to “tell their stories.” Everybody has a story to tell and that may be particularly true for Circles folks. Learn how to use your own story to make a difference in the world.
Of course if you’d like to come investigate this “Circles” thing that everyone is talking about, feel free to drop by St. Paul’s United Methodist church this Thursday, September 20th. Dinner will be provided by MaMa JJ’s so you know you’re going to get some delicious eats before J.J. shares his own story.
And training will be continuing for our Class 8 Leaders.
6pm. St. Paul’s United Methodist Church on west 26th. Hope to see you there!

Of course you won't want to say "no" to the delicious spaghetti dinner provided by the Freeman Health System Team!
It all starts at 6pm, Thursday, August 16th at St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Hope to see you there!
Once again the renowned breakfast chefs at the Elks Lodge will get your weekend off to a delicious start with all proceeds going to Circles. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Well it's certainly the most important meal of OUR day today!
And to accompany your feast, Crystal Hope will be performing live at the Elks Club!
So plan on spending your morning at 1802 West 26th in Joplin, have a hearty breakfast and know you're helping Circles!
Due to an event at St. Paul's, Circles Classes 1 through 7 will not be meeting tonight. Circles Class 8 will be meeting at Faith Fellowship Church at 16th & Wall. The entrance is at the south side door.

We will provide poster boards, markers, and glue…the rest is up to you!

You know how your mother always said "breakfast is the most important meal of the day?" Well far be it from us to argue against Mom!
This Saturday January 6, the Joplin Elks Lodge will be hosting a benefit breakfast for JOMO Adventures, LLC. JOMO Adventures will be using the funds raised to support a one-day charity bicycle ride in June that will benefit Circles of Joplin.
Please join us at 1802 W 26th St., Joplin, MO from 8:00-10:00 and support Circles/JOMO Adventures. The breakfast is $8 with 100% of the proceed donated to our cause. And why not treat mom to breakfast while you're at it? After all, she was the one with all the great advice!
The annual Circles "Old Fashioned Christmas Party" was Thursday evening, December 28th at Scott Vorhees' "No Excuses" gym! Santa Vorhees gifted the Circles Leaders and Allies with the run of the place and a fantastic time was had by all! After a festive potluck dinner, the group enjoyed a white elephant gift exchange, charades, and a wild game of Pictionary (we're still not sure what Chandice Horine was drawing but some of the guesses included a porpoise and a fried egg). Everybody took a break so we could get a picture of some happy parents and children.
